What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a form of body contouring treatment that has been gaining in popularity in recent years due to its effective and successful results in eliminating stubborn body fat.

CoolSculpting has been cleared by the FDA to be used to freeze stubborn fat and eliminate it once and for all. It is a non-invasive treatment that can be used on 9 different areas of the body that have been found to commonly collect fat cells that are difficult to get rid of through a nutritious diet and regular exercise.

The process of CoolSculpting is called cryolipolysis, meaning that it freezes and ultimately kills the body’s fat cells in the treated area. It is not a surgical process and has little to no downtime, while still being effective in eliminating fat by up to 20-25% from the treated areas.

CoolSculpting is one of many different body contouring treatments available on the market today and it is best to discuss your options with a certified CoolSculpting provider such as Jane Weston to determine if this treatment is right for you and the results you are looking to achieve.

What to expect after CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive body contouring treatment process that can be performed in a certified practitioner’s office in less than an hour.

Following your CoolSculpting treatment, you will be able to continue about your day, pretty much as normal.

The frozen fat cells in your body will take time to die out and be expelled by your body, so changes in your body contours in the treated areas can take one to three months to start appearing.

Final results are typically visible about six months following treatment, once the frozen fat cells have all successfully been killed off and eliminated by the body.

Immediately following CoolSculpting, some patients have experienced mild side effects that have included redness, swelling, bruising, itching, cramping, stinging, tenderness, aching or skin sensitivity at the treatment site.

These side effects, should they occur, are temporary and will resolve themselves shortly.

How long does it take for CoolSculpting to actually work to see results?

CoolSculpting does not provide immediate results following the procedure as the body needs time to naturally process the fat cells that were frozen during the treatment.

The process of freezing the fat cells can be done in a single appointment, which can last up to about 35 minutes depending on the area being treated, and if multiple areas are being done at the same time.

Changes to your body will typically take between one and three months to be visible due to the time needed for the frozen fat cells to slowly die off as a result of being frozen.

Once they have been killed, the dead fat cells then need to be absorbed into the body so they can be properly processed and ultimately eliminated as part of the body’s natural waste elimination process. The process happens at a slow and gradual pace so you won’t even notice what is happening inside your body at the time.

This also means that the full results of CoolSculpting can take up to six months or longer to be realized.

How does your body get rid of fat after the CoolSculpting procedure?

Once that fat cells have been killed off through the freezing process of CoolSculpting, they will be absorbed into the body. At this point they will then be processed and naturally eliminated along with all other waste that the body processes on a constant basis.

It is a slow and gradual process that will happen over the course of several months, so you won’t even notice that it is happening on a daily basis.
